Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida is famous for its popular theme parks. But for those interested in a sunny golf getaway, Disney can also provide a magical championship golf experience. In fact, Disney offers up four challenging and very different championship courses designed to test the skills of golfers at any level.
Disney’s Lake Buena Vista is a classic country club style course with a meandering layout. Enjoy the scenery as you wind your way through pastel villas, pine forests and sparkling lakes. Tee off adjacent to boats and canals and enjoy magnificent views of an enchanting lighthouse.
Golfers will experience the natural beauty of Florida’s woodlands on Disney’s spectacular Palm course. This majestic layout is one of Florida’s toughest layouts, featuring crystal lakes, tropical sand and strategically placed palms.
Both Lake Buena Vista and the Palms courses regularly play host to PGA Tour events, ensuring Disney golfers beautifully manicured links amidst a tranquil and scenic backdrop.
Other Disney championship courses include Osprey Ridge and Magnolia. Osprey Ridge is a serene and elegant wilderness course designed by Tom Fazio featuring dramatic fairways that cut through forests of scrub oak, pine, palmetto and cypress trees. Magnolia is filled with an abundance of fragrant magnolias, while elevated tees, spacious greens and tranquil water hazards offer up the best in championship golf challenges.
Regardless of which Disney course you choose, golfers will enjoy the benefits of GPS technology. Each cart is fitted with a GPS that offers a full color monitor to provide detailed 3D views of each hole, precise yardage to the flagstick, professional tips and course strategy.
Novice golfers and families may also enjoy a more modest golf experience at Oak Trail. This 9-hole walking course offers undulating greens and holes ranging from 132 to 517 yards from the back tees. It’s a perfect course for the young or developing golfer or even for those low handicappers looking to sneak in a quick nine. |
